Uh Oh Roscoe

Receiver Roscoe Parrish will miss four to six weeks after having surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb, leaving the Buffalo Bills without their biggest threat in the return game.

The injury happened in the fourth quarter and even though he was able to play through it and haul in a touchdown pass, the chance of further injuring the thumb and being lost for the season was too much for the Bills to risk, thus him having the surgery as soon as possible. Parrish was said to have no ligament support in his thumb if it moved a certain way.

This injury does put a little damper on the Bills season so far, but with 2 winnable games coming up followed by the bye week, it gives the team a chance to see what their first picks in this years draft can do. I would assume that James Hardy will move up the depth chart and slide into the slot receiver role vacated by Roscoe, and Leodis McKelvin who hasn’t seen the field as a defender as far as I know will most likely handle all the returns now.

This loss is a big one in that anytime Roscoe touched the ball, he could take it to the house, but it could be a blessing in disguise if it gets McKelvin and Hardy more snaps and gets them more involved in the games.
