A nice easy victory?!?! I hope so!!

Ok so this week the 2-0 Buffalo Bills take on the 1-1 Oakland Raiders. Now it is surprising to me that this Oakland team actually got a win so far this year. This team is in such disarray that they are talking about when to fire their head coach Lane Kiffin, not if they are going to fire him. So here is my breakdown of the game to be..
Oakland comes in with JaMarcus Russell at the helm for them. This quarterback has a ton of skills, but is he really going to be able to take those skills and translate them into being a great NFL quarterback. So far the answer is no. And with Trent Edwards completing 70 percent of his passes, making no mistakes, and avoiding costly sacks, I think I have to give the edge in a big way to Buffalo.
EDGE: Bills
Marshawn Lynch has not had a big breakout day yet this season, but has gotten the yards when they count. Add to that Fred Jackson taking full advantage of whenever he gets on the field and you have a very good 1-2 punch. Oakland’s only real strength is their run game with Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas off to good starts this season. Even though the numbers say that Oakland has the edge in the running backs, I cant help but think that those numbers will come back down to earth when Oakland faces a better defense then Kansas City and Denver. And with Justin Fargas most likely out for the game, McFadden will have to carry the load all by himself.
EDGE: Bills
The wide receiver match up is an interesting one, because all in all I have no clue who Oakland has playing for them anymore. Their 2 leading receivers are their tight end and their full back, and they have caught nearly half of the passes that Russell has throw. The Bills on the other hand have a hot Lee Evans, Josh Reed, and a newly involved James Hardy. I think this one is obvious.
EDGE: Bills
The Bills offensive line needs to get better at paving the way for Marshawn and Freddie Jackson, but their pass blocking has been superb. With another full week of drills and practice under his belt, I expect even more of a dominant performance by Jason Peters. Plus this game wont be played in 100-degree temperatures so we probably wont see as much of a rotation. Oakland is still saddled with a bust of an offensive tackle in Robert Gallery, he was supposed to be a bookend tackle but they have to hide him inside as a guard. I do like their center Jake Grove, he is a big nasty guy that I would love to have on my team.
EDGE: Bills
Normally here is where I split the post, but since I wont be able to post later, I will just continue, maybe see if this is better for anyone out there reading this…
The Bills defensive line is as dominant as I have ever seen. They are getting pressure on the quarterback and they are stopping running backs in their track. Last week, they played back a little to help conserve their energy, but when they needed pressure or a big stop, they could get it. Oakland has some good weapons on their d-line, but I am still taking the Bills, no doubt about it.
EDGE: Bills
Linebackers are a key to stopping the running game, and the Bills linebackers have been doing their job so far, but they face a very tough obstacle this week. The Oakland linebackers are a mystery to me. (I feel like I am saying that a lot about this team) I like the Bills until I see something to make me not like them so for now…
EDGE: Bills
This is in my opinion the only real close match up when comparing positions. I like Oakland’s secondary a lot. Nnamdi Asomugha, DeAngelo Hall, Michael Huff, and Gibril Wilson are all good players and could shut down an offense, but the Bills have a very formidable secondary too, and with the emergence of Ashton Youboty, I still think the Bills have their number
EDGE: Bills
Special teams is a close match up as Oakland comes in with some of the better kickers in the league in Shane Lechler and Sebastian Janikowski. I would say that the kicking match up is a push, but when you throw in the return teams, no question about it.
EDGE: Bills
Coaching is just unfair to compare right now. Dick Jauron is on the verge of getting a contract extension; Lane Kiffen is going to get fired soon. I don’t think he should be fired, but he is going to be fired so that leaves no real question here.
EDGE: Bills
So there it is, a clean sweep for the Bills. Let’s just hope that the game was this easy. And in my opinion it will be. I see Marshawn busting out against this defense, and I see Trent keeping up his great season and the Bills getting a nice easy victory….30-13.
LETS GO BILLS!!!!

Well I don’t know about easy but they pulled it off! Don’t look now but they’re in first place. I remember when that used to be common, hopefully it will become that way again.
