“Dear Reporters,

“Due to the magnitude of this week’s game and high volume of questions for the Original 81 about the other 81. I will be taking all questions immediately following Sunday’s game.

“Sincerely, (followed by Owens’ signature)

 ”p.s. Getcha Popcorn Ready.”

This was the note that was awaiting reporters hoping to get a quick quote from Terrell Owens before the Dallas Cowboys practice. Normally I wouldn’t really care about this but every once in a while I will look to branch out from the Buffalo scene to take a look at something nationally and this seemed as good of a chance as any.

Now I know someone out there is saying something to the affect of “oh this is just TO trying to get more attention”, but I actually like, no I love this move. He is not trying to give any extra motivation to the New England Patriots going into their clash this weekend. He is not going to touch Tom Brady vs. Tony Romo, and while he alludes to the other key matchup, Randy Moss vs. TO, he is not going to get into it.

DeMarcus Ware was quoted as saying, “He’s going to show it on the field. … The talk is over. Now it’s all about getting prepared and trying to get a win.” And I think that is the best case scenario for the Cowboys who need to have a better showing this weekend if they are looking for a win.

So I commend TO for not being his normal self with giving tons of bulletin-board material and countless sound bytes, and staying focused on the game at hand. Maybe he is going to be a changed man…..but probably not.
