The playoff races are heating up and things are getting really really tight in all but two of the divisions in the MLB. The Mets lead is down to 1 1/2 games, the Red Sox have a 2 1/2 game lead on the Yankees, and both of the other NL races are really close. The wildcard in the NL is just as tight as any division race. These races are going to go down to the end and here are my predictions for what is going to happen.

AL EAST: Boston Red Sox: I don’t think that the Red Sox are going to let the Yankees back in it. They have the roster and the pitching staff that they need to hang on here.

AL CENTRAL: Cleveland Indians: They got this division wrapped up…I haven’t seen this team this good since Rick Vaughn, Willie Mays Hayes, and Pedro Cerrano.

AL WEST: LA Angels: The Halos are looking like the team that won the series back in 2002.

AL WILDCARD: NY Yankees: The bombers won’t take the division but they will still be a force in the playoffs.

NL EAST: NY Mets: I can’t go against my team here, I think their pitching staff will figure it out and will lead them to their 2nd consecutive division crown.

NL CENTRAL: Chicago Cubs: The Cubs will win the division and will get knocked out in the first round no matter who they face.

NL WEST: San Diego Padres: Their pitching staff will lead them down the stretch to a division crown.

NL WILDCARD: Arizona Diamondbacks: Ok so this one might be based on the fact that if the Mets win the division, I really don’t want the Phillies to make the playoffs so I am hoping for these youngsters to hold on and make it.

So lets see how I do with my picks down the stretch.
