So “Georgie” picked Michael Mukasey for U.S. Attorney General. The Democrats will more than likely approve this nomination. Let’s not look at this as being a sign of bipartisan cooperation. Mukasey will pass the test because he has a good track record of following the rule of law in past decisions as a judge and he is well respected in his field.

The test will come when he’s told to administer his office according to the whims of “Georgie” and his cronies.

“Georgie” has an agenda. He’s got to figure out how to get the maximum return for his elite associates before the wall’s come tumbling down. His appointment of Mukasey brings to the table a well respected “Corporate” attorney. His recent position of “Partner” at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler show’s where his allegiances lie.

From their website:
The Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, formerly Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, rejoined the firm as a partner in September 2006.  Judge Mukasey is active in the firm’s Litigation group, working on white collar defense and investigations matters, providing advice on corporate governance issues and actively litigating civil and criminal cases.

I’m not trying to attack Mukasey. It just seems ironic that while major financial interests are again jeopardized because of the current crisis in the mortgage industry, a new face will enter the game with an extensive background in protecting “Big Business” against the results of their previous “Bad Bets”.

While all of America is consumed by the war in Iraq, it will be interesting to see how much more money will be recovered by the “Elite” through the unattended back door of the U.S. Court system.

“Big Money” forced low interest credit down America’s throat through enticement in their mailboxes. When they couldn’t afford the payments and were forced into bankruptcy, the bankruptcy laws were changed to protect the financial interests.

“Big Money” enticed American’s to seize the “American Dream” and were often offered mortgages far beyond their means… sound familiar?

Hmmmmm…

Pay attention America. It’s hard to “Keep Your Eye on the Ball” when there’s more than one.
