MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BABY!!!!

Ok so I am back with a look at a much needed win here on MNF!!! The 5-4 Buffalo Bills are taking on the disappointing 3-6 Clevland Browns, in a game that the Bills must win to stop the horrible downfall that they are on. The Bills are coming off 3 bad games against their 3 division opponents and need to right the ship.

The Browns are a disappointment this year, as many around the league expected them to improve upon their impressive season last year. They have already switched quarterbacks and are being led by Brady Quinn, who I just happen to love. The Browns have a lot of players not living up to potential but they can be a dangerous team if the Bills continue to make sloppy mistakes.

The Bills on the other hand had emotions going at high end when they started off 5-1, but after 3 sloppy horribly played games, they need to get their heads on straight, and there is no better time then in front of a national audience. Trent Edwards has been sloppy, the running game has been non-existent, and the defense is leaderless. But at least we can hope that we get one of our defensive leaders back with Donte Whitner back from injury.

So I see this game as a coming out party for Marshawn Lynch, who I am predicting will get at least 150 yards and a bare minimum of 2 touchdowns. Trent Edwards is going to match Brady Quinn with a lets help the team but not do anything stupid approach. This is going to be a game dominated by the Bills, I guarentee it!!!! 35-14 with the Bills righting their course towards the divisional crown!!!!

Busy busy and dont have a computer

Sorry folks for the last second postings but I am in kind of a bind with computer access right now so I have to keep this post short.

The Bills have looked bad the past two games. Simple as that. Could they have won both games…yes. Did they deserve to….no! So after such a happy start, we are sitting here looking at the New England Patriots and facing what could be looked at as a must win! Do I think the Bills can win this game….yes, Do I think they will…..I guess we will find out. I will definatly be back in the saddle next week with full breakdowns so dont leave just cause one bad week here ok?

Buffalo’s other sports?

So the Sabres have started and are off to a good start, who wants me to start blogging about them? Leave me some comments on whether you guys are interested in reading some weekly, daily, or whenever I can get to them comments about their season.

The Buffalo Bandits are the NLL Champions….bet a lot of you didnt know that right? Indoor lacrosse is a great game to get people involved in going to because you can get a season tickets for the price of a single ticket to a Sabres game. I got season tickets this year after being a big fan for awhile and I cannot wait. So if you want to get your family together for a fun night out every once in awhile definalty look at the Bandits. And if you dont believe me, just ask the Old Man about it, he is the one that got me into it!!

Still in first place, and looking for some breathing room

So coming off a tough division road game loss, the Bills come home to play the NY Jets….

The Jets are going to look a little different this year. There is a guy that is wearing a number 4 jersey in their backfield, might have heard of him….goes by the name Farve, Brett Farve. One of the single greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game is now in our division and we get to face him for the first time, in a game that could be considered a must win for the Bills to keep the momentum of their early season success.

So here are the breakdowns as I see them….

Brett Farve. Trent Edwards. Who would you choose?? I love Trent and I think he could defiantly become a great quarterback, but Brett has done it all before. Although the match up is more now because Farve is playing with a sore shoulder making some of his bullet throws come out as ducks.

EDGE: Jets

Marshawn Lynch’s stats could defiantly be considered a disappointment so far this year. I don’t think you can blame this all on him, but there have been times where there seems to be a seam and he is just a few seconds too late to find it. He is still a very talented back and eventually I have to believe he is going to break a game wide open, could this be the game he tears it up? Thomas Jones is running with some fire this year while average well over 4 yards per carry.

EDGE: Bills

The Bills will be without Josh Reed this week, and that means little Roscoe and big James are going to have to step up and make up for his consistent production. Lee Evans is having a great year so far averaging over 20 yards per catch, and he is going to have to have a great week to match up with the Jets talented duo. Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery are both having good years with over 30 catches apiece and averaging around 12 yards a catch. With Josh Reed out, I just don’t see the Bills being to match up with the top duo of the Jets.

EDGE: Jets

The Bills offensive line did not have their best game last week, and it is about time Jason Peters get his head out of you know where and starts playing like a player who wants a big time contract. The Jets offensive line underwent a huge overhaul in the off-season and it seems to be working. Alan Faneca is spear heading a revived line that is opening holes for Jones and kinda sorta keeping Brett healthy.

EDGE: Jets

The Bills will be without Aaron Schobel AGAIN this week. Marcus Stroud is still playing list a beast, and Kyle Williams is emerging as a good interior force. The Bills are only on pace for 30 sacks this year, far off their desired goal of 50. I think it is time for some of the other defensive ends to come out and show what they are made of. Kris Jenkins, like Stroud, came over this off-season in a trade and like Stroud has flourished in his new surroundings.

EDGE: Bills

The Bills linebackers are going strong and I am still thinking that Poz will be great one day soon!! Jonathan Vilma is no longer playing for the Jets, having been shipped to NO this off-season, so I would have to say that I am relatively unfamiliar with the Jets backers, other then knowing that they are young and fast.

EDGE: Bills

Terrence McGee came back a little too early last week and it showed on him getting torched by Ginn Jr. This week he is going to have a tough test with the fast Jets receivers. McKelvin, Youboty, and Greer need to pick up the slack to give McGee some help. Whitner is still a beast! Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, and Dwight Lowery give the Jets secondary a very scary appearance.

EDGE: Jets

Special teams are a toss up because as good as our teams could be, they are not making the impact that I would expect. The Jets have an explosive return man of their own in Leon Washington. I like our kickers more then theirs so this is the first week where I am not calling our edge a blowout in this area.

EDGE: Bills

Eric Mangini is a Bill Belichick protégé and has shown some good skills while coaching the Jets the past few years. I think he is one of the good up and coming coaches in the league, but right now I like Dick Jauron and his assistants better.

EDGE: Bills

I have the match up being pretty even, with no team holding a major advantage anywhere. I think the key issues this week are going to be whether the Bills can establish a running game against the big Jets linemen, and if McGee is going to be healthy enough to prevent Farve from completing a lot of deep balls against him. If the Bills can establish a run, I see them getting this game going for them early and then hanging on. If Farve is able to get into a rhythm with his deep throws, I could easily see a blowout forming.

Good thing for us, I see Lynch establishing himself early and often, and I see Trent Edwards shaking off the late turnovers from last week, and playing a mistake free game. I still see the Jets completing at least 1 long touchdown pass, but I also see Farve having to force throws to get his team back in it leading to a few picks late. So overall here is my prediction….

Bills 34 Jets 24

I see Lynch getting a touchdown, I see Trent throwing for two, one to Evans and one to Hardy. And to finish it off, I see Leodis McKelvin taking the opening kickoff of either the game of the 2nd half to the house. I see Lindell chipping a few field goals in, McGee sealing the win with a late pick on an under thrown ball, and calling the game a victory for the Bills.

GO BILLS!!!!

Sloppy

Ok so our first venture into AFC East competition saw the worst game that we have played so far this year. 4 turnovers in the 4th quarter including allowing a safety! Losing a 9 point lead in the third quarter. All around the team just didnt come to play on Sunday. Games like this will happen, but we just need to forget about it and start focussing on next weeks game against the Jets.
